Kunów (Świętokrzyskie Voivodship) – beginning of the preparatory work on the construction of the MBR sewage treatment plant
21.05.2018

A modern sewage treatment plant will be built in Kunów in the Ostrowiec County. The investment, worth approximately PLN 16 million, will be co-financed by the Regional Operational Program.
The construction of the sewage treatment plant in Kunów is a strategic investment for the Municipality. The current installation is almost 40 years old and does not fulfill its tasks. What is more, the stench coming out of it makes the everyday life of the inhabitants much more difficult. After the construction of the new sewage treatment plant, all villages with sewage systems will be connected to Kunów. The new treatment plant will be constructed with an extremely advanced MBR technology. As noted by Mr. Stanisław Malinowski, who represents the construction company, the treated water will be sent back to the river. The technological processes will be fully automated, and thanks to photovoltaics, the sewage treatment plant will be self-sufficient in terms of energy.
The mayor of Kunów, Mr. Lech Łodej, emphasizes that this is the largest investment in the history of the Municipality. The entire cost is PLN 16 million (PLN 7.2 million is co-financed by the ROP).
The investor will start work on Friday, but the first shovel was ceremoniously stuck today. The ceremony was attended by the Municipality authorities, the inhabitants of Kunów and invited guests - among them senator Jarosław Rusiecki and the vice-voivode of Świętokrzyskie Voivodship Andrzej Bętkowski. The new sewage treatment plant is to start operating in June next year.
