Official signing of the contract in Bodzentyn

Last week, in the Municipal and Communal Office of Bodzentyn, during the meeting with city officials, Schwander Polska offcialy signed a contract for preparation of design and cost estimate documentation as well as exercising project architect’s supervision with regard to the task entitled “Development of water and sewage management to agglomeration of Święta Katarzyna – reconstruction and construction of wastewater treatment plant in Święta Katarzyna” alongside with obtaining construction permit.
The contract encompasses drawing up design documentation compliant with the Functional-Utility Programme for construction and reconstruction of wastewater treatment plant as well as adaptation of some of the existing WWTP buildings. The project will be based on the most innovative technology in wastewater treatment - gravity-driven membrane microfiltration.
The contract is a result of long-term efforts of Bodzentyn Municipality aiming at obtaining funding from Regional Operational Programme of Świętokrzyskie Province for the years 2014-2020. Total sum of the funding is allocated to modernisation and expansion of wastewater treatment plant in agglomeration of Święta Katarzyna, which is particularly important after extension of sanitary sewage system involving 30 km of new lines. Apart from that, the decision was motivated by the dynamic growth of single-family housing and increased tourism, which caused vast development of accommodation services as well as tourism-related industries and companies.
It is worth mentioning, that after renovation the wastewater treatment plant would be based on the state-of–the-art membrane technology, which will enable to meet stringent discharge requirements especially in terms of phosphorus and nitrogen removal. It is of great importance, since the WWTP is located within the area of Świętokrzyski National Park and Natura 2000 protected site, which means that it will have to meet extremely strict standards.
The task shall be completed by the end of October 2017.
