Application of Cold Plasma in Water and Wastewater Treatment

The GeneInUse Scientific Student Association from the Faculty of Infrastructure and Environment at the Częstochowa University of Technology has won 70,000 PLN in funding for an innovative project "Application of Cold Plasma in Water and Wastewater Treatment" for the academic year 2024/2025.
In cooperation with Schwander Polska®, the students not only develop cutting-edge technology, but also gain valuable experience in research work.
“Cold plasma, often referred to as the fourth state of matter, is a highly promising technology in wastewater treatment and water purification. This ionized gas generates by-products such as ozone and oxygen or hydroxyl radicals, which help break down organic compounds like pharmaceuticals and pesticides and neutralize bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Our students are at the forefront of discovering solutions that will enhance the quality of wastewater treatment and the removal of contaminants from water.” – Gene In Use (LinkedIn)
We keep our fingers crossed for their success!
